Program Timeline

A typical program involves:

Quarter 1 (Fall: September-December)

  1. Orientation: Orientation to UC Davis and the Humphrey Program by UC Davis Humphrey Program staff (3 weeks)
  2. Weekly Seminar: Attend weekly Humphrey Seminar (Fridays) Note: IIE requires attendance at this weekly seminar. 
  3. Networking: Network between Fellows, UC Davis faculty and staff
Plan:
  1. Develop the first draft of your Individual Program Plan (IPP).In particular:
    1. Professional Development: Identify and register for courses of interest (maximum 1-2 courses per quarter); identify conferences and workshops; get involved in local community organizations
    2. Professional Affiliation: Begin identifying possible professional affiliation opportunities
  2. Advisor: Each Fellow discusses their needs and interests with Assistant Director and Senior Faculty Advisor.
  3. Report: Be sure to keep track of seminars, trips and courses taken for mid-year Individual Program Plan (IPP)  report submission. Due to Coordinator in December.

Quarter 2 (Winter: January-March)

  1. Professional Affiliation:
    1. Primary focus - Identify and arrange your professional affiliation
    2. Submit professional affiliation proposal to IIE by early March
  2. Professional Development: Continue with courses of interest, identify conferences and workshops; get involved in local community organizations
  3. Weekly Seminar: Continue weekly Humphrey Seminar (Executive Leadership Certificate Series)
  4. Report: Keep notes of seminars, trips and classes taken for final report submission

Quarter 3 (Spring: April-June)

  1. Professional Affiliation: Undertake professional affiliation
  2. Report: Submit Individual Program Plan (IPP)
